Opportunity Flywheel LLC
Grocket is operated by Opportunity Flywheel LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes the information Grocket collects, how we use it, who we disclose it to, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
Dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergies are covered by a separate consumer health data privacy policy, which applies in addition to this one.
This section summarises the collection described in this policy. Fuller detail follows.
We use the information described above to: convert recipes into shopping lists; retrieve prices and promotions from participating stores; generate per-store lists and routes; synchronise your data across your devices; provide customer support; administer subscriptions; and diagnose and correct faults.
We do not use your recipes, lists, household information, or dietary information for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
We disclose information to the following categories of third party, limited in each case to what that recipient requires:
Each third party to which we disclose user data is required to provide protection of that data equal to or greater than that stated in this policy.
Where you scan a receipt, we extract the line items, prices, store, and date from the image. We retain the image only for so long as is necessary to complete that extraction and to correct an extraction error, and in no case for longer than 90 days, after which it is deleted. We do not retain payment card numbers appearing on a receipt. Receipt scanning is optional.
Price observations you contribute are added to a shared price database available to other users of Grocket. The information added consists of the item, the store, the price, and the date. It does not include your identity, account information, household information, dietary information, recipes, or lists, which are stored separately.
Contribution is enabled by default and may be disabled at any time in Settings → Privacy. Disabling it does not restrict any other function of the application.
Dietary restrictions and allergies may indicate a medical condition and are treated as consumer health data. We do not sell, share, or aggregate this information. Grocket does not derive health conditions or health status from your purchases, shopping locations, or shopping patterns. Our consumer health data privacy policy sets out the full terms, including the consents we obtain and the rights available to you.
We may produce and disclose aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify any individual or household, and which excludes dietary information, household information, recipes, and lists.
Account information and content are retained while your account remains open. Following deletion of your account, recipes, lists, household information, dietary information, saved stores, and settings are deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with a legal, tax, or accounting obligation, or to prevent fraud. Receipt images are retained as described in section 5. Contributed price observations are retained in the shared price database, as they contain no information identifying you.
Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights to access, correct, and delete personal information, to obtain it in a portable form, to opt out of its sale or sharing and of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and not to be subject to discrimination for exercising those rights.
Submitting a request. Requests may be submitted to the address in section 14. We will acknowledge receipt and respond within 45 days, or within such further period as the applicable law permits where we notify you of the extension and the reason for it. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, ordinarily by confirming control of the email address associated with the account.
Authorised agents. You may designate an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require written permission signed by you, and may require you to verify your own identity directly with us, except where the agent holds a valid power of attorney.
Right to appeal. If we decline a request, our response will state the reason. You may appeal that decision within a reasonable period by replying to our response or writing to the address in section 14. We will inform you in writing of the outcome of the appeal, and the reasons for it, within 45 days of receipt. If the appeal is denied, you may contact the Attorney General of your state to submit a complaint.
Grocket is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and internal access is limited to that necessary to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we do not warrant absolute security.
We may amend this policy. Amendments apply to information collected on or after the effective date stated above. Where an amendment would permit us to handle information already collected in a manner not permitted by the policy in force when it was collected, we will obtain your consent before doing so. Material amendments — including a new category of information, a new purpose, or a new category of recipient — will be notified within the application and by email before they take effect.
